BMW ALPINA Officially Becomes a Standalone Brand: A New Era of Exclusivity

As of January 1, 2026, the automotive world has witnessed a historic milestone with the official transfer of the ALPINA trademark rights to the BMW Group. This transition marks the launch of BMW ALPINA as an exclusive standalone brand under the BMW Group umbrella. The focus is now shifting toward a dedicated brand activation that will define the next decade of luxury travel. While the partnership between the two names spans decades, this new chapter solidifies ALPINA’s independent personality, ensuring it remains the premier choice for those seeking a level of prestige that sits in a category all its own.

Honoring Tradition Through Modern Design

The future of BMW ALPINA is deeply rooted in its storied history, and the brand is signaling this transition through a striking new visual identity. A new wordmark has been unveiled that radiates clarity, calm, and confidence. Positioned proudly at the center of the vehicle's rear, this branding underlines the standalone character of the new marque. The design is a conscious nod to the past, inspired by the brand’s iconic asymmetrical wordmark from the 1970s. By blending this vintage inspiration with an elegant, contemporary aesthetic, BMW ALPINA provides a seamless link between its legendary heritage and its high-tech future.

The Perfect Harmony of Performance and Comfort

At the heart of every BMW ALPINA lies a unique philosophy that has defined the brand for generations: the pursuit of the ultimate balance. While many high-performance vehicles sacrifice ride quality for speed, BMW ALPINA is committed to maintaining a superior level of ride comfort alongside maximum performance. These hallmark driving characteristics are what make these vehicles truly extraordinary. They are engineered to deliver blistering speed and precision while remaining effortless and composed, offering a "hallmark" driving experience that is as exhilarating on the Autobahn as it is refined on a long-distance tour.

A Bespoke Sanctuary for the Extraordinary

Modern exclusivity at BMW ALPINA is defined by rigorous standards of craftsmanship and an uncompromising selection of materials. Every vehicle is designed to fulfill the most demanding expectations in terms of visuals, acoustics, and tactile feel. Beyond the standard engineering excellence, buyers are invited to explore a remarkable portfolio of bespoke options and custom materials. This level of personalization ensures that every vehicle carries its own unmistakable character, serving as a unique object for connoisseurs who refuse to compromise on individuality. By focusing on these extraordinary details, BMW ALPINA continues to cater to those in pursuit of a driving experience that is as rare as it is powerful.

While prototypes are still heavily camouflaged, the design direction is clear, and it promises to usher in a new era of aesthetics, power, and interior technology. The Neue Klasse Design Language Takes Over If you want a sneak peek at the 2027 3 Series, look no further than the recently unveiled iX3 electric SUV. BMW’s design strategy is aligning its gas and electric models, meaning both the new 3 Series and i3 will embrace the clean, modern look of the Neue Klasse platform. This shift finally moves away from the more contentious kidney grille designs of the recent past, favoring a flatter, tauter aesthetic with tidier proportions and minimal visual clutter. The key difference between the two sedans will be subtle: the com...

Facelift For Bavarian Police Force BMW Vehicles

For the better part of 20 years, Bavarian police cars were manufactured with silver BMW 3 series vehicles. Prior to the silver color scheme, these vehicles sported a white base coat. Recently, the Bavarian government has decided to revamp their BMW police vehicles in terms of a color scheme. The new color scheme draws inspiration from the nostalgic white base coat used prior to 2003.  Modeled after their previously utilized retro white, blue, and yellow color scheme, new Bavarian BMW police vehicles have gone back to their roots by shedding the apparently outdated silver and green paint job. All new Bavarian police vehicle will be manufactured from BMW 3 Series Touring models with the new color scheme. This shift comes primarily from BMW's discontinuation of the Glacier Silver base color for the 3 series, but a higher resale value for white vehicles might also be a variable.  In contrast to the prior white Bavarian police BMWs, the new vehicles will be manufactured with a Mine...
