BMW is preparing for a monumental shift as it brings its next-generation Neue Klasse architecture to the forefront of the global market. While the 2027 iX3 crossover is set to lead the charge in the United States with deliveries beginning next summer, the buzz is already building for its sedan counterpart. The upcoming BMW i3 sedan is poised to make its world premiere next year, signaling a new era for the brand’s most iconic segment as it moves toward a 2027 local launch.

The Arrival of the Next-Generation i3 and iX3

BMW USA is already setting the stage for the arrival of the all-electric i3 sedan, which is expected to follow closely in the footsteps of the iX3 crossover. While the iX3 will hit American roads first in 2026, the i3 world premiere in 2025 will give enthusiasts their first official look at the future of the electric sport sedan. Production for the global market will kick off in Munich in July 2026, with U.S.-specific models slated to follow that November. Initial offerings for North American drivers are expected to focus on the high-capability 50 xDrive and 40 xDrive variants, ensuring that performance and all-wheel-drive stability remain central to the electric experience.

Defining Accessible Luxury: Pricing the New Era

While official MSRPs have not yet been finalized, industry projections suggest an approachable entry point for the Neue Klasse lineup. The iX3 50 xDrive is anticipated to start near the $60,000 mark, but the i3 sedan is expected to follow the traditional industry pattern of being slightly more affordable than its crossover sibling. With plans for a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive iX3 40 potentially coming in under $55,000, it is highly likely that the base i3 sedan will land in the low $50,000 range. For many, the goal is for this new electric standard-bearer to potentially dip below the $50,000 threshold, making the transition to electric power more accessible than ever.

The Breathtaking Future of Electric M Performance

For the high-performance crowd, BMW is already generating hype for the first-ever electric M3. Described as "breathtaking" by brand representatives, this range-topping performance machine is reportedly scheduled to enter production in March 2027. This high-performance flagship is expected to arrive alongside the i3 M60 xDrive, a model that will bridge the gap between the standard sedan and the full-fat M variant. By utilizing the dedicated electric architecture from the ground up, the electric M3 promises to deliver dynamics and torque vectoring that were previously impossible on traditional platforms.

A Wave of 40 New Models and the Return of ALPINA

The i3 and iX3 are just the spearheads of a massive product offensive. BMW plans to launch or update approximately 40 models globally by the end of 2027. This roadmap includes a brand-new gas-powered 3 Series arriving next year, as well as a next-generation X5 and a refreshed 7 Series. Perhaps most exciting for luxury aficionados is the all-but-confirmed return of ALPINA’s 7 Series. This pinnacle of bespoke luxury is expected to debut in late 2026 or 2027, potentially carrying its own unique internal designation and offering both advanced gasoline and fully electric powertrains for the first time in the brand’s history.

With every successive geneartion, BMW has updated their brand in the form af a new logo which represents current, and projected, ideals of the company. As of today, BMW has unveiled their latest rendition of their brand logo. As pictured below, the updated BMW logo represents the current generation. Facelift For Bavarian Police Force BMW Vehicles

For the better part of 20 years, Bavarian police cars were manufactured with silver BMW 3 series vehicles. Prior to the silver color scheme, these vehicles sported a white base coat. Recently, the Bavarian government has decided to revamp their BMW police vehicles in terms of a color scheme. The new color scheme draws inspiration from the nostalgic white base coat used prior to 2003.  Modeled after their previously utilized retro white, blue, and yellow color scheme, new Bavarian BMW police vehicles have gone back to their roots by shedding the apparently outdated silver and green paint job.
